At BrighterGood, we are guided by the experiences of our past, the needs of the present moment, and our hopes for the future.

Our founder, Celia, spent more than a decade working in-house on a range of education issues from teacher pipelines, STEM advocacy, and arts education to charter school legislation, adaptive learning, game-based literacy instruction, and access to post-secondary schooling. It is through these experiences that she built a commitment to improving the lives of historically under-represented communities and marginalized populations.

During one of Celia's earliest roles, she managed the public relations for an anti-hunger organization across the state of Massachusetts. That a mother working two jobs often has to choose between heating her home or feeding her children is not something that Celia could ever forget. Nor did she want to. Through the years, equity remained close to her heart and in the forefront of her mind. As she explored the foundations of education in the U.S., Celia developed a strong belief that there's no greater inequity than the lack of educational opportunity--and from which too many injustices occur.

The gaps that persist today are the driving force behind our work.

We are content area experts in education. We are also cross-disciplinary learners and believers in collective impact and asset-based mindsets. We know that our greatest social challenges are deeply connected; our greatest opportunities lie in making these connections across industries and communities and building genuine and trusted relationships. That's why we're also passionate about local community building, the arts, racial justice, health & wellness, women's rights, LGBTQIA issues, and sustainable solutions to protect our environment.
